PhD Student- Norlux Oncology laboratory - SF1016

We are seeking a Phd Student to contribute to the Télévie project: “Long non-coding RNAs in Glioblastoma” within the NorLux Neuro-Oncology Laboratory of the LIH. The successfull candidate will investigate the function of two long non-coding RNAs and evaluate their potential as therapeutic targets to counteract tumour resistance to therapy. The project will involve a collaboration with the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, Edinburgh (UK). The student will be enrolled at the doctoral school of the University of Luxembourg.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform laboratory techniques that include: cell proliferation, cytotoxic assays, RNA quantification, microscopy, RNA/protein immunoprecipitation

  • Participate in laboratory activities, including seminars and interactions with other teams.

  • Participation in trainings and conferences

  • Scientific writing (reports, articles and thesis)


  • Master degree in Molecular or Cellular Biology

  • Knowledge in Oncology and/or Epigenetics/RNA biology

  • Experience in Chromatin and/or genome editing technologies is an asset

  • Rigor, motivation, curiosity, oral and written communication skills, ability to work with others

  • Language skills: English fluency (written and oral, working language)
